ART AND ART HISTORY

Art History

State University of New York at Binghamton
Advanced studies and research in history and theory of art and architecture, with distinctive commitment to new theoretical, cross-disciplinary, global, and comparative cultural analyses. Drawing on University interdisciplinary strengths, this very international program develops analytical, theoretical, and professional skills for scholars, curators, educators, and urban and planning professionals.

Syracuse University
The MA is offered in art history in two distinct programs. The General Studies Program offers two to four teaching assistantships annually. The more specialized Florence Program offers four fellowships, including remitted tuition and a stipend of $18,000 for the study of Italian Renaissance art in Syracuse and Florence.

University of California, Davis
Master of Arts in the history of art. Special emphasis on the art and architecture of the ancient Mediterranean world, early and modern China, early and modern Islamic world, early and modern Italy, and Europe and America from 1750 to present; critical theory; histories of photography, architecture and urban design, collecting, and museums. Excellent library, nearby museums. Interdisciplinary work encouraged. Applicants from other fields with a strong interest in art history welcome. Gateway degree for museum careers, community college teaching, and top PhD programs.

Art/Fine Arts

Miami University
The MFA degree is offered in studio areas of painting, printmaking, sculpture, ceramics, and metals/jewelry. The master's degree is offered in art education. The MFA requires 60 semester credits in studio and related art courses; MA requires 30 semester hours. Assistantships are available, including tuition waiver, stipend, and studio space. Northwestern University
Intensive program leading to the Master of Fine Arts. Faculty members include Pamela Bannos, Jeanne Dunning, Kelly Kaczynski, Judy Ledgerwood, Michael Rakowitz, Steve Reinke, and Lane Relyea. Fellowships, assistantships available. Autumn quarter admission is based on outstanding academic record (BA or other), 20 slides of recent work, statement, recommendations. Savannah College of Art and Design
SCAD exists to prepare talented students for professional, creative careers. The university cultivates the unique qualities of each student through interesting curriculum, inspiring locations and environments, and the leadership of involved professors. SCAD offers MA, MArch, MUD, MFA, and MAT degrees in nearly fifty areas of study. Online programs are offered through SCAD-eLearning.

University of Delaware
Newark, Delaware, is located midway between New York City and Washington, DC. The department has 17 faculty members, all exhibiting artists, and 9 graduate teaching assistantships. Arts Administration

University of Oregon
The Arts and Administration Program offers a Master of Arts Management, with concentrations in museum studies, community arts, performing arts, and media management. Full-time faculty members address cultural policy, community arts, museum education, events management, administration, evaluation, and aesthetics. Participating faculty members offer courses in information design, artistic administration, and nonprofit management.
