BIOPHYSICS
Biophysics
University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign The Center for Biophysics and Computational Biology provides a broad selection of interdisciplinary research training opportunities. Students in the program apply physical, experimental, and computational methods to biological problems at all levels of complexity from molecular to organismal. A detailed list of research projects is available at www.life.uiuc.edu/biophysics.
Cross-Discipline Announcements
University of Minnesota, Twin Cities Campus This interdisciplinary program provides research training and experience in biophysics, medical imaging, magnetic resonance imaging and spectroscopy, radiobiology, and radiation therapy physics. Thirty-one faculty members from 11 departments provide diverse opportunities for multidisciplinary research. A strong undergraduate physics background is desirable. Limited financial aid is available.
Radiation Biology
The University of Iowa The MS and PhD programs are based on in vivo and in vitro study of biological systems and their responses to ionizing and non-ionizing radiations, hyperthermia, and chemical injury, as well as the role of free radicals and antioxidants in cancer and other degenerative disease states associated with aging.
