University of Pittsburgh
In the department's graduate programs in ecology and evolution, research areas include ecological and population genetics; tropical and community ecology; evolutionary ecology; phylogeny of birds, amphibians, and reptiles; metapopulation structure; evolution of dispersal and dormancy; and plant-animal interaction, herbivory, and food webs.

Zoology

Miami University
The Department of Zoology at Miami University offers training in animal behavior, developmental biology, ecology, ecotoxicology, genetics, molecular biology, neuroscience, and organismal and ecological physiology leading to master's and PhD degrees. The 35 faculty members and 65 graduate students occupy a well-equipped building with facilities for field research located near campus. All graduate students receive annual financial assistance worth at least $30,000 in stipends and waivers in return for part-time duties.

Southern Illinois University Carbondale
The Department of Zoology at SIUC provides training leading to the MS and PhD degrees. The department includes 22 graduate faculty members with research programs in biodiversity, conservation biology, wildlife ecology, fisheries biology, mined-land reclamation, terrestrial and aquatic ecology, toxicology, molecular systematics, and molecular ecology.

University of Oklahoma
