MS and PhD in marine biology with research emphases in mollusks, echinoderms, coral reef fishes, and manatees and community studies of lagoonal, mangrove, and reef systems. Applications range from physiological and ecological systematics to biochemical and molecular biological studies in these areas.

Two-year professional program provides excellent preparation for careers in environmental management. Core courses emphasize coastal sedimentary and biological processes, ecology, economics, policy, and quantitative analytical methods. Program includes courses on the main Durham campus and at the Duke University Marine Laboratory located at Beaufort, North Carolina. PhD program also available.
