Public Health--General
University of Pittsburgh The Graduate School of Public Health offers master's and doctoral degrees in many areas, including biostatistics, public health statistics, human genetics, public health genetics, genetic counseling, epidemiology, infectious diseases and microbiology, behavioral and community health sciences, health administration, health promotion and education, health services research and policy, risk assessment, and environmental and occupational health. Certificate programs include public health preparedness and disaster response, global health, environmental health risk assessment, minority health research, LGBTQ health, public health genetics, community-based participatory research, and evaluation of health promotion and education programs. A multidisciplinary MPH is offered for doctoral-level health professionals, some experienced professionals, and advanced health profession students. A new Peace Corps Master’s International MPH program begins in fall term 2009. Also available are joint-degree programs (JD/MPH, MPH/MPA, MPH/MID, MPH/PhD–anthropology, MPH/PhD–social work, MD/PhD (in human genetics, epidemiology, or infectious diseases and microbiology), MPH/MSW, and MPH–public health genetics/MS–genetic counseling).
