Students learn to manage the world of information at the College of Information and Computer Science at Long Island University—the school with vision and a focus on information, technology, and people. The College is comprised of the Palmer School of Library and Information Science and the Department of Computer Science and Management Engineering. The Palmer School offers an MS in library and information science and a PhD in information studies. Selected master's courses are offered at the Manhattan location in the Bobst Library at NYU, at SUNY Purchase in Westchester County, and at LIU's Brentwood Campus in Suffolk County. In addition, The Palmer School offers a dual-degree program with NYU. Advanced certificate programs are offered in archives and records management and public library administration. Concentrations are available in library media specialist, rare books and special collections, and public library management. The College offers master's degrees in information systems, management engineering, and information technology education. University of Hawaii at Manoa
Founded in 1965, the ALA-accredited Library and Information Science Program prepares information professionals for work in all types of libraries and organizations through its Master of Library and Information Science (MLISc) degree and the Certificate in Advanced Library and Information Science (CALIS) programs. The program is one of 4 sponsors of the interdisciplinary PhD program in communication and information sciences. Dual master's degrees are offered in Pacific Islands studies (MA/MLISc), American studies (MA/MLISc), Asian studies (MA/MLISc), computer science (MS/MLISc), history (MA/MLISc), and law (JD/MLISc). Internships and a limited number of tuition waivers are available.
