There are nearly 4,000 degree-granting institutions of higher education in the United States alone. Approximately 1,600 of those are private, nonprofit colleges and universities and about 900 of these campuses are self-defined as “religiously affiliated.” However, just over 100 intentionally Christ-centered institutions have qualified for membership in the Council for Christian College & Universities. They are diverse, yet have a common commitment to transforming lives by faithfully relating scholarship and service to spiritual growth. All of this happens in a rigorous academic environment where students are encouraged to form their own view of the world and are prepared to achieve success in their chosen field while engaging society with Christian principles and ideas.
“Studying at a Christian college or university … an education of both spiritual and occupational excellence, fused with a passion for cultural relevance … will provide students with the tools they need to impact their specific marketplaces, as well as the watching world, with the Gospel.”
