Return of Title IV Aid Guidance

The Department of Education has published additional guidance on the Return of Title IV Aid requirements. The guidance applies to return of funds calculations made after February 13, 2004 - the date of the Dear Colleague letter - and is not intended to be applied retroactively.

Issues specifically addressed include credit balances; undisbursed aid; incomplete verifications when the student withdraws; students who do not pass a class; calculating aid earned for withdrawal from credit-hour non-term programs; determining the date of student withdrawal when attendance taking is not required; and treatment of LEAP funds.
