Deadline Dates for the 2003-2004 Award Year

The Department of Education has published several deadline dates for the receipt of documentation necessary for institutions and students to participate in the Title IV Higher Education Act (HEA) aid programs. These aid programs include the federal student loan programs (FFEL and Direct Loan), the Perkins Loan Program, Federal Work-Study, Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity (FSEOG) Grant, Pell Grant, and Leveraging Educational Assistance Partnership (LEAP) programs. Detailed application instructions for institutions for each program are available in the 2003-2004 Federal Student Aid Handbook, available online at the IFAP website at http://ifap.ed.gov/IFAPWebApp/index.jsp. Information is also available in Guide to 2003-2004 SARs and ISIRs, accessible on the IFAP website.

Additionally, several important 2003-2004 student documentation deadlines, such as those for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and renewal FAFSA; Student Aid Report (SAR), including corrections; and verification documents are now published. Students may get more information on these deadlines in the 2003-2004 Student Guide, or in the Department's student publication Funding Your Education, both available on IFAP.
