Campus-Based Aid Deadlines

The Department of Education has published several important deadlines for institutions participating in the 2004-2005 award year campus-based aid programs. The campus-based aid programs include the Federal Work-Study (FWS), Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG) and the Federal Perkins Loan Programs. Institutions participating in these programs must meet the respective deadlines to maintain their eligibility, ensure consideration for funding, or receive a waiver in the program, as appropriate.

Important deadlines participating institutions should be aware of include the following:
1. Waiver requests for the community service expenditure requirement in the FWS program are due no later than August 30, 2004.
2. The Reallocation Form for returning unused funds or requesting an additional FWS allocation must be submitted by August 20, 2004.
3. The 2003-2004 Fiscal Operations Report and 2005-2006 Application to Participate (FISAP) is due October 1, 2004.
4. The 2003-2004 Work-Colleges program report of expenditures is due October 18, 2004.
5. On February 11, 2005, both the request for waiver of the 2005-2006 award year penalty for underuse of 2003-2004 award year funds and the Institutional Application for Approval to Participate in the Federal Student Financial Aid Programs are due.
6. The 2005-2006 Institutional Application and Agreement for Participation in the Work-Colleges Program for the 2005-2006 award Year is due March 11, 2005.
