Frequently Asked Questions About CCAPAC
What is CCAPAC?
CCAPAC is the Career College Association's political action
committee. Its purpose is to raise money from the CCA community
and make contributions to political committees and federal
candidates for elected office.
Why is CCAPAC needed?
CCAPAC is part of a three-faceted CCA political strategy to
compliment the day-to-day lobbying on Capitol Hill by CCA
professional staff, and CCA's constituency-based lobbying
program. This approach provides additional opportunities to
meet with members of Congress who are in a position to make
a difference on legislation important to our community.
Is contributing to CCAPAC voluntary?
Yes. Each CCA member determines if he or she wishes to participate.
Who is eligible to contribute to CCAPAC?
Federal election laws prohibit candidates for federal office
from receiving corporate campaign contributions. Therefore,
PAC's which contribute to candidates for federal office must
not accept contributions from corporations. Contributions
to CCAPAC may only be solicited from the stockholders, executives,
and administrative personnel (and their families) of member
of CCA. The donations must be from the individuals rather
than the corporations.
What is a "Permission Authorization Form"?
Contributing to CCAPAC is a two-step process. A "Permission
Authorization Form" is the form where a corporation indicates
a specified group of stockholders, executives and administrative
personnel who are allowed to be solicited by CCAPAC for contributions
for a specific period of time. The CCAPAC must be in receipt
of this form prior to soliciting and accepting contributions.

Once permission has been given for CCAPAC to make requests,
how does CCAPAC raise money?
Direct mail, CCAPAC sponsored fund-raising events, and personal
phone solicitation are three methods that are employed.
How much may I contribute to CCAPAC?
An individual contributor may give up to $5,000 per calendar
year to the CCAPAC. Contributions to CCAPAC are not tax deductible.
What are the forms of payment that CCAPAC will accept?
A personal check or personal credit card -- MasterCard, American
Express, and Visa are the only forms of payment that CCAPAC
will accept.
How much can the CCAPAC contribute to candidates?
Because CCA pays the administrative overhead for the PAC,
all of your contribution goes directly to support federal
candidates and committees. Federal election law limits the
amount that a PAC may contribute to a candidate to a total
of $5000 in the primary election cycle and $5000 during each
general election.
