Question/Answer
Welcome, everyone. We would like to encourage the many participants in
this question and answer program to read the newsletters we publish on
this Peterson's web site each month. There is a good deal of advice on
all aspects of the planning for and applying to colleges. This month's
letter focuses on the concern so many present and future college
students have about financial aid and the availability of educational
loans. We believe you will be reassured by the present situation in
the loan market as we describe new government programs and the
determination by colleges to make funding available to needy students. -Howard and Matthew Greene

Howard and Matthew Greene:
If you do well on your A level examinations and score well on the TOEFL, you should find many university opportunities to study in the US. There are many excellent programs in the information technology field that would prepare you for a career in the field. You should do a search on Peterson's college search site for the particular colleges that offer IT degree programs. The challenge today, to be candid, is to find those universities that have financial aid funding available for international students. You may need to send an e-mail to the universities you have identified through your search to inquire about the availability of aid for international students. Then you will know which universities to apply to.
Question 2:
May 08, 2008 Good day to you sir/madam, how can i avail a free scholarship? im here in manila, philippines and i want to continue my study. thanks' respectfully yours, Mharyce - mary grace
Howard and Matthew Greene:
You should carry out a search on Peterson's scholarship web site to identify those colleges that offer financial aid to international students. At the same time you should use Peterson's search engine to identify the academic programs that you are interested in studying.
Question 3:
i want to major on pyschology but then go into social work, would this be a rewardful experience? - giovanna
Howard and Matthew Greene:
The study of psychology is an excellent foundation for further study in social work. An undergraduate degree with a concentration in social and behavioral psychology can be of great interest and stimulation for a person who enjoys understanding people's behavior and personal needs. Social work is a graduate degree program that prepares one to help individuals in need as a profession.
Goodbye for now. Keep your questions or any information and
suggestions for other students that you would like to share from your
own experience. -Howard and Matthew Greene
