Overview

Savannah's Educational Gem

Founded in 1935 and situated on the Atlantic coast, Armstrong is a dynamic public university with more than 7,100 students from across Georgia and the globe. Its location, just 15 minutes from historic downtown Savannah and 25 miles from Tybee Island beach, makes this 268-acre arboretum campus a popular college destination for students who seek a unique college environment that brims with career opportunities.

A Strong Start for Future Success

A member of the University System of Georgia, the university offers more than 70 undergraduate programs through four colleges: the College of Education, College of Health Professions, College of Liberal Arts, and College of Science and Technology.

Educators at Armstrong are more than just teachers. They are scholars and mentors who are fully engaged in their students' educations and futures. Its cutting-edge research facilities and equipment are available to all students including freshmen. This allows students to conduct innovative research and present their work at national conferences. With abundant internship, networking, and interdisciplinary opportunities, Armstrong students transition confidently into the professional world.

Financial Aid at Armstrong Atlantic State University

With one of the most affordable tuition rates in the state of Georgia, Armstrong provides academic programs comparable to those at prestigious private schools but at lower costs.

The university is committed to helping students finance their educations. In fact, more than 85% of its students receive financial aid. They may qualify for federal grants, loans, and work study programs; state grants; and university-sponsored scholarships, student employment, and out-of-state tuition waivers.

Study Abroad and Honors Programs

Armstrong's specialized academic programming enhances learning, goal achievement, and professional preparation. Its honors program provides exclusive cultural, intellectual, social, and service opportunities.

Additionally, Armstrong offers the enrichment of study abroad programs to 55 countries throughout the world.

Life at Armstrong

Armstrong's close-knit community provides many opportunities for students to broaden their horizons, build lifelong relationships, help others, and have plenty of fun.

Students can choose from nearly 100 student organizations, get involved with student government, and join fraternities or sororities or intramural teams. They can also participate in leadership programs, community service, event planning, and student publishing. Armstrong's Treasure Savannah day of service brings hundreds of students together each semester to make a difference at nonprofit organizations across the community.

In addition, students enjoy a variety of recreational options including cultural celebrations, recreational sports, fitness programs, and outdoor adventures.
