RN to BSN Program Overview

Students of this program are prepared to meet the growing demand for bachelor's-prepared nurses. This online RN-to-BSN program incorporates the standards established by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) and is accredited by The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). This program is designed to provide licensed registered nurses with the additional knowledge, skills, and decision-making proficiencies needed in today's more complex health care environment.

This rich, collaborative learning experience includes interactive multimedia materials and other course work that will help students expand their knowledge of health promotion and disease prevention; multicultural wellness strategies; pharmacology and patient safety; patient care technology; collaborative nursing group processes; leadership and management; and policy, law, ethics, and regulations in professional nursing practice.

RN license verification required.

Washington residents are currently not eligible to enroll in this program. Arkansas residents must complete Arkansas general education requirements.

Degree outcomes

With their Bachelor's of Science in Nursing degrees from Capella, graduates will have the ability to conduct comprehensive and focused assessments of health and illness parameters in individuals, groups, and vulnerable populations. Admissions Requirements

Admissions requirements vary by program and specialization. International applicants residing outside the United States, Canada, Guam, Puerto Rico, or the Virgin Islands are not eligible for acceptance into programs requiring supervised clinical internships or practica within the Schools of Education, Human Services, and Psychology. Financial aid

Capella participates in several federal financial aid programs including the Federal Pell Grant Program and Federal Stafford Loan Program. Capella is also eligible to certify Veterans Educational Benefits and can provide information on other non-federal loan programs.

Capella-funded scholarships are also available in select disciplines, such as the Robert C. Ford Human Services Scholarship and the Helene Krivosha Scholarship for education students. There are also external scholarships offered specifically to Capella students, such as the Go the Distance Scholarship.
