Charter Oak State College is Connecticut's only public online college, offering associate and bachelor's degree completion programs in high-demand fields including health information management, psychology, public safety administration, business administration, information systems, and more. The college prides itself on preparing its graduates with the necessary skills vital to today's workforce.

Charter Oak students complete degree programs through online courses and alternative approaches to earning credit including testing and credit for lifelong learning. The college has a flexible credit transfer policy and is proud to offer one of the most competitively priced bachelor's degree completion programs available today for both in-state and out-of-state students. Charter Oak is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges and governed by Connecticut's Board of Regents for Higher Education.

The college offers rolling admissions with the opportunity to begin courses at 6 times throughout the year.

Programs of Study

The college recently launched a 100% online major in Health Information Management. Developed by experts in the field and designed for working professionals, the Bureau of Labor has predicted this field of study to be one of the 20 fastest growing occupations in the United States.

Additionally there are 16 concentrations that can be competed through the exclusive use of the college's online courses including "American Studies," "Business Administration," "Child Studies," "Criminal Justice," "Early Childhood Studies," "Health Care Administration," "Individualized Studies," "Information Systems Studies," "Liberal Studies," "Organizational Leadership," "Paralegal Studies," "Political Science," "Psychology," "Public Administration," "Public Safety Administration," and "Sociology."

Admissions & Academic Counseling

Charter Oak is dedicated to its students' success. From the first point of contact, prospective students are paired with an experienced Enrollment Services Counselor who will guide them through the enrollment process. The Enrollment Services Division offers weekly online chats that can be accessed through the college's website and offers prospects a convenient way to have basic questions answered in an interactive online forum.

Once enrolled, each student is assigned an Academic Adviser who will work with the student as he or she progresses through his or her studies with the ultimate goal of driving student success and degree attainment.
