Faith-Based Education at Concordia University Texas

Concordia University Texas--a private, co-educational, liberal arts institution--has been generating leaders since 1926. It provides 2,500 students with challenging academic programs and a caring community in the Lutheran tradition.

Concordia provides a supportive, welcoming, natural environment that facilitates academic success and personal growth. Its beautiful campus is situated on 386 acres of land that includes a 250-acre wildlife and nature preserve known as Concordia Preserve.

In addition to state-of-the-art classrooms, computer labs, and science labs, the campus includes a chapel, an art gallery, a theater, athletic facilities, student residences, and a student center. It also has beautiful natural spaces for study, relaxation, and reflection such as The Pier and The Bridge.

It has 22 undergraduate majors, as well as Master of Education (MEd) and Master of Business Administration (MBA) programs that are delivered in traditional, online, and evening formats.

Concordia University Texas is located in Austin, Texas, in the southwestern region of the United States, and it has satellite campuses throughout the state of Texas.

Accelerated Degree Program

Concordia University Texas offers an Accelerated Degree Program that allows adults to earn degrees while working full-time. Students can earn Bachelor of Arts (BA) degrees in Business, Healthcare Administration, Human Resource Management, and Teaching Education as well as Bachelor of Applied Arts and Science in Technical Management degrees.

Students who enroll in the program with no credits generally earn their degrees in the same amount of time as students in traditional programs. However, students who have completed general education credits usually earn their degrees in 2 to 3 years.

Small class sizes give students the opportunity to build meaningful networks and share information with experienced and talented peers who have diverse personal and professional backgrounds.

The College of Business

The College of Business at Concordia University Texas helps students develop into leaders in their classrooms, careers, churches, communities, and families. It offers the following programs: Bachelor of Business Administration, BA in Business, BA in Healthcare Administration, BA in Human Resource Management, and Master of Business Administration.

The College of Education

The College of Education promotes excellence in teaching, learning, service, and leadership. It provides BA in Director of Christian Education, BA in Education, and Master of Education programs for pre-service and in-service teachers as well as Directors of Christian Education.

The College of Liberal Arts

The College of Liberal Arts at Concordia provides a traditional liberal arts education that helps students acquire broad knowledge bases and develop their intellectual capabilities. Students also gain an understanding of the human experience and ever-changing world.

They can earn Bachelor of Arts degrees in Behavioral Sciences, Communication, English, History, Music, or Political Science. They can also pursue BA degrees in Multidisciplinary Studies and Pre-Law.

The College of Science

Students in the College of Science at Concordia University Texas gain the educational foundation, faith, confidence, compassion, and tenacity needed to build successful careers and distinguished lives.

The college has Bachelor of Arts degrees in Biology, Environmental Science, Kinesiology, and Mathematics. It also has Bachelor of Science degrees in Biology, Computer Science, Environmental Science, and Nursing.

Financial Aid at Concordia University Texas

Concordia provides financial aid that helps its students pay for tuition and other expenses. Traditional undergraduate students may be eligible for merit scholarships, grants, loans, and federal work study. Additionally, students in the Accelerated Degree Program, MBA program, and MEd program may qualify for grants and loans.

Speaker Series at Concordia

Concordia offers students interesting and informative speaker series that enhance scholarship and provide networking opportunities. The College of Business's "Conversations with¿Speakers Series" presents professionals who promote Christian leadership and provide real-world insight into organizational building and leadership. In addition, the College of Science hosts the "Distinguished Speaker Series" that features scientists and researchers from around the world.

Extra Curricular Activities

A wide-variety of co-curricula events, social activities, intramural and recreational sports, and student organizations, as well as campus ministries, provide many opportunities to have fun, make friends, and experience Christian fellowship. Additionally, Concordia's intercollegiate sports teams, the Tornados, are part of the NCAA Division III, so students can participate in and enjoy baseball, basketball, cross country, golf, soccer, softball, volleyball, and track and field competitions.

Nature Preserve at Concordia University Texas

The Concordia Preserve gives the Concordia community the opportunity to be the stewards of "God-given resources." The preserve, which includes caves, dense tree cover, and wetlands, allows for investigation and management of endangered species like the Goldencheeked Warbler, native plants, and archeological remains.
