Overview

Faith and Learning Combine in DBU Online Programs

Dallas Baptist University (DBU) is a pioneer in providing quality Christian online education. Both traditional- college age and professional adult learners can take advantage of DBU's 57 fully accredited student-centered certificate, undergraduate, and graduate online degree programs. DBU online classes integrate faith and learning to prepare students for rewarding lives of servant leadership in their chosen careers.

Students work closely with their advisers to plan a course of study that meets their needs and goals. Through Internet technologies such as streaming media and threaded discussions, DBU's distance learning courses provide learners with complete flexibility in completing their studies as well as the ability to engage in meaningful interactions with other students and their professors. Technical support is available by phone, 24/7.

Costs and Financial Aid

Each 3-hour undergraduate DBU Online course costs $2100, and each 3-hour graduate course is $2130. Other fees may apply to certain courses. DBU offers an installment plan for payments, and students may be eligible for financial aid.

Application

DBU Online admission requirements are the same as those for the on-campus programs, which can be found on Dallas Baptist University's Web site.

CERTIFICATE PROGRAMS

Undergraduate certificates are offered online in health-care management, information systems and technology, and management practices.

Advanced certificates are offered online in childhood ministry leadership, Christian school administration, distance learning, higher education administration, human resource management, information systems management, international management, management, marketing, ministry leadership in 5 concentrations (business ministry, childhood ministry, collegiate ministry, family ministry, and worship ministry), project management, school principalship, and worship ministry.

Associate of Arts (AA)

The Associate of Arts program provides participants with a well-rounded liberal arts curriculum.

Associate of Biblical Studies (ABS)

The Associate of Biblical Studies degree program combines courses in the liberal arts and Biblical studies to give students a sound theological foundation for teaching, ministry, and leadership within the church.

Associate of Business Administration (ABA)

The Associate of Business Administration provides excellent practical training in business administration immediately applicable to career opportunities.

Bachelor of Arts and Sciences (BAS)

Students in the Bachelor of Arts and Sciences program graduate with a solid foundation in the liberal arts as well as specialized knowledge gained through majoring in Christian ministries (with a concentration in business), communication, criminal justice, health-care management, interdisciplinary studies (8 concentrations available), psychology, or sociology.

Bachelor of Arts (BA)

The Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Biblical studies provides the student with adequate exposure to and training in the discipline of Biblical studies.

Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA)

The Bachelor of Business Administration program prepares students for the global business environment. Central to this educational experience is the integration of the Christian faith and values with the professional studies of business. Students may major in management, management information systems, or marketing.

Bachelor of Business Studies (BBS)

The Bachelor of Business Studies degree program prepares students for the global business environment. Central to this education experience is the integration of the Christian faith and values with the professional studies of business. Students may major in business administration, finance, management, management information systems, and marketing.

Master of Business Administration (MBA)

Students in DBU Online's MBA program receive the knowledge and skills they need to pursue rewarding careers and leadership opportunities in the global business environment. Concentrations are available in finance, health-care management, international business, management, management information systems, marketing, and project management.

Master of Arts in Christian Education (MACE)

Graduates of DBU Online's Master of Arts in Christian Education program are well-prepared to assume leadership positions in church-related ministries. Students may choose concentrations in adult ministry, business ministry, childhood ministry, collegiate ministry, family ministry, student ministry, and worship ministry, or they may pursue general concentration programs.

Master of Arts in Christian Education: Childhood Ministry

Participants in DBU Online's Master of Arts in Christian Education: Childhood Ministry program receive theological, educational, and practical skills to become effective childhood ministers.

Master of Arts in Christian Education: Student Ministry (Youth and Collegiate)

The Master of Arts in Christian Education: Student Ministry (Youth and Collegiate) program provides student ministers with foundations for theological, educational, and practical programming for effective student ministry. It will also teach students foundational biblical leadership principles.

Master of Arts in Management (MAM)

The Master of Arts in Management program teaches participants the management, leadership, and communication skills needed to be successful managers in today's business environment. Available concentrations are general management, health-care management, and human resources management.

Master of Arts in Professional Development (MAPD)

Students who pursue the DBU Online Master of Arts in Professional Development receive a broad education to enhance their knowledge and credentials. Eight areas of concentration are offered: church leadership, criminal justice, finance, higher education, leadership studies, management, management information systems, and marketing.

Master of Arts in Teaching with Distance Learning Specialization

The Master of Arts in Teaching with Distance Learning Specialization is designed for professionals seeking knowledge and skills specific to distance learning.

Master of Arts in Worship Leadership

The Master of Arts in Worship Leadership is a unique program designed to engage worship leaders in the holistic study of Christian worship in order to educate the church both individually and corporately in the theological and practical dimensions of worship. The program provides ?worship leaders? ? whether they are pastoral, education, music, student, or otherwise ? a sound theological, transformational, and practical program for worship foundation and practice.

Master of Education (MEd) in Curriculum and Instruction

The Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction provides intensive training in curriculum, instruction, and assessment and leadership development in three specialized areas: Christian school administration, distance learning and supervision.

Master of Education (MEd) in Educational Leadership

The MEd in Educational Leadership degree program comprises 3 core courses and 10 certification courses.

Master of Education (MEd) in Higher Education

The Master of Education in Higher Education (MEd) offers individuals who are interested in a variety of areas in higher education opportunities to explore the various facets of post-secondary institutions. This exploration is conducted from a uniquely Christian perspective. The 36 hours, non-thesis administrative track provides students with two different concentrations: distance learning specialization and interdisciplinary studies specialization.

Master of Liberal Arts (MLA)

The Master of Liberal Arts degree is designed to meet the needs of the student who wants an interdisciplinary, broad-based graduate education rather than specialization in a single discipline. This flexibility is appealing to a wide range of people who want expanded liberal arts education and better understanding of their heritage. Students can choose from two different tracks: interdisciplinary track or single-discipline track with specialization in Christian Ministry.

Accelerated Bachelor's/Master's Degree Programs

Highly motivated students may pursue an accelerated program in order to earn both a bachelor's and master's degree in less time than is required to pursue the degrees separately.

DBU Online offers 3 accelerated degree programs: the Bachelor of Business Studies (BBS) in Business Administration with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with concentrations in finance, health-care management, international business, management, management information systems, marketing, or project management; the Bachelor of Business Studies in Management with a Master of Business Administration in Management; and the Bachelor of Business Administration in Management with a Master of Business Administration in Management.

DUAL-DEGREE PROGRAMS

Dual-degree programs enable students to pursue two master's degrees simultaneously and usually require just one extra year of study.
