Undergraduate Degree Program Overview
The International University in Geneva offers three undergraduate degrees: Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), Bachelor of Arts in International Relations (BA-IR), and Bachelor of Arts in Media and Communication (BA-MC). Each of the degree programs comprises 43 courses taken fulltime over 3 years.
Bachelor of Business Administration
Designed for high school graduates interested in pursuing careers in global business,
the BBA program focuses on essential aspects of business management, including finance, accounting, economics, management, marketing, human resources, organizational behavior, and corporate strategy. The curriculum includes visits to major international companies in Geneva.
Students enrolled in the program may select elective courses from the following 6 areas of concentration to complete their degrees: marketing and international business, international media and communications, finance and accounting, luxury management, and general management.
Graduates with a BBA degree from IUG go on to careers in marketing, management, finance and banking, project management in multinational corporations, private banking, government and international organizations, and family businesses.
Bachelor of Arts in International Relations
As host to the United Nations and specialized agencies such as the World Trade Organization, Geneva -- often referred to as the "capital of peace and diplomacy" -- is the ideal place to study international relations.
The Bachelor of Arts in International Relations degree program was developed for students interested in studying politics and global governance. Students learn in a dynamic multicultural environment with faculty members from academia, international institutions, diplomatic services, and field missions. Students also gain insight into the United Nations systems while attending international conferences and meetings in Geneva.
Core international courses focus on: the United Nations, international organizations, and regional cooperation; globalization and the nation state; security, peace, and conflict resolution; sustainable development and environmental diplomacy; and the role of civil society, media, and non-profit organizations in the 21st century.
Graduates of the BA-IR program go on to decision-making careers in international organizations, diplomatic services, corporate business, and non-profit organizations.
Bachelor of Arts in Media and Communication
The Bachelor of Arts in Media and Communication degree program at IUG provides an overview of essential communications theories combined with practical negotiation skills for the modern international workplace. Students explore media communications and trends with the latest media tools and concepts.
The curriculum covers key aspects of media and communication, including new media, multimedia, communication theory, journalism, public relations, corporate communications, image management, crisis management, advertising, and marketing.
Graduates of the BA-MC program pursue communications careers in advertising, management, public relations, journalism, publishing and media, multinational corporations, government, and international organizations.

The International University in Geneva is located in the International Centre Cointrin (ICC), a modern business and secure environment featuring a 5-star hotel, 3 restaurants and a fitness center. Most students live in Stud'home residence, where they can select either furnished studios or furnished rooms.
The university offers access to sports and recreational activities for students. Social events, such as dinners and ski weekends, are organized with the support of the Student Council. The university has arrangements for special student rates with nearby sports clubs for activities such as tennis, swimming, and general fitness.
