Location

Situated on the eastern edge of downtown Miami, adjacent to a causeway linking the city to legendary hot spot South Beach, Miami International University of Art & Design is right in the center of one of the world's most fascinating, exciting, and diverse cities.

Miami is earning a name as an international, multicultural city that's a fusion of culture, tradition, and exotic flavors. Its unique connection and proximity to its Latin American neighbors makes Miami a true melting pot of rich cultures, traditions, and festivals.

Thanks to its Latin American and Hispanic connection, Miami has become a base of operations for hundreds of companies seeking to gain an economic foothold in these growing markets. The city continues to develop and grow, along with its economy and its status as an international player.

The arts, fashion, and design also thrive in Miami. Each year, the City of Miami hosts Art Basel, the winter equivalent of the world's largest art show held in Basel, Switzerland. Talented artists, art dealers, galleries, and museums come from all over the world to exhibit throughout the city during Art Basel.

The area is also home to attractions like the historic Art Deco District of South Beach, the Design District, Wynwood Art District, and Coconut Grove. As the focal point of performing arts activity in South Florida, Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County serves as a showcase for the finest in established and developing cultural programs. And of course, nearby Miami Beach and particularly South Beach offer a wide range of foods, shops, activities, nightlife, and people to explore.

Miami is known for its miles of beautiful beaches and for being the winter home of countless celebrities, as well as the setting for many movies and TV shows such as "CSI Miami." The NFL's Miami Dolphins play in Sun Life Stadium; baseball's Miami Marlins play at Marlins Park; and the Miami Heat of the NBA and the Florida Panthers of the NHL play in BB&T Center.

Vibrant, multicultural, and rapidly growing, Miami is a city like none other. Miami International University of Art & Design and its student body and faculty reflect Miami's diversity, its commitment to the growth of the arts, and its reputation as a center of international commerce and success.
