Overview

Montclair State University -- It's All Here

Montclair State University combines the resources of a large university with the supportive environment of a small college -- all on a 250-acre scenic suburban campus just 14 miles from Manhattan.

From pre-professional training in the arts to research opportunities in the sciences, from award-winning teacher education programs to hundreds of hands-on internships -- it's all at Montclair State University.

Students enjoy a wealth of on-campus athletic, social and cultural activities, as well as easy access to one of the world's greatest cities.

While a Montclair State education is an exceptional value, 72% of students receive some form of financial aid.

Academic Programs

A student/faculty member ratio of just 17:1 gives students direct access to a faculty of dynamic scholars and teachers -- and limitless learning opportunities.

Students can choose from the nearly 300 majors, minors, concentrations and certificate programs offered by the colleges and schools. Hundreds of internships connect students' studies to future careers. Students can make global connections through study abroad programs in over 50 countries.

College of the Arts students study with a faculty of composers, filmmakers, choreographers, and other working professionals from the fine and performing arts to prepare for careers in the arts.

The new School of Communication and Media focuses on groundbreaking cross-media programs and learning experiences in communications, filmmaking, television, and digital media.

The John J. Cali School of Music, the only university-based music school in New Jersey, launches student musicians into professional careers.

Nationally recognized College of Education and Human Services programs prepare highly qualified educators and human services professionals in everything from athletic training and food science to public health and elementary and secondary school teaching.

The College of Humanities and Social Sciences focuses on the critical thinking, communication skills, and liberal arts perspective valued by graduate and professional schools and high-profile employers.

College of Science and Mathematics students conduct research with faculty scholars, publish in journals, and contribute to discoveries that shape the world. The college offers combined B.S./M.S. degrees in key disciplines.

The School of Business equips students with the practical experience and knowledge to pursue careers in an evolving global marketplace.
