Mount Ida College Offers over 25 Majors in Animal Science, Business, Arts and Sciences, Design, and Funeral Home Management and Service

Mount Ida College has 5 schools: Animal Science, Arts and Sciences, Business, Design, and the New England Institute. In addition to offering niche programs, a Mount Ida education also includes a strong liberal arts foundation where students strengthen critical skills essential for personal and professional development and lifelong learning.

Students at Mount Ida regularly practice critical thinking, creative problem solving, and effective communication skills. In addition, most programs require hands-on, practical experience through internships and fieldwork.

Mount Ida offers a Master of Science in Management (MSM) graduate degree program with a variety of concentrations. These concentrations include Management, Interior Architecture, and Leadership in Sport. As a graduate student at Mount Ida, students experience a hybrid blend of flexible, on-line and in-class courses designed to meet career goals and busy schedules. Majors and areas of study include: American Studies, Applied Forensic Science, Bereavement Studies, Biology, Business Administration, Child Development, Criminal Justice, Dental Hygiene, English, Equine Management, Fashion Design, Fashion Merchandising and Marketing, Funeral Home Management, Funeral Service, Game Art and Animation, Graphic Design, Hospitality Management, Human Services, Interior Design, Liberal studies, Psychology, Sport Management, and Veterinary Technology.

Minors are also available in American Studies, Art/Design History, Biology, Business, Child Study, Criminal Justice, Criminalistics, English, Forensic Psychology, Graphic Design, History, Human Services, Leadership Studies, Legal Studies, Marketing, Psychology, Sociology, and Studio Art.

Mount Ida College Offers a Vibrant Campus Life

Mount Ida has 15 NCAA Division III varsity athletics teams, including m/w basketball, m/w cheerleading, m/w cross-country, equestrian (IHSA), football, m/w lacrosse, m/w soccer, women's softball, women's tennis, and m/w volleyball. Mount Ida also sponsors a women?s field hockey club as well as a variety of intramural sports. As a Division III school, Mount Ida views inter-college competition as an integral part of the educational process, and helps students maintain a healthy balance between academics and sports.

Mount Ida College also has many student organizations that allow students to learn far beyond the classroom. It is easy to get involved in academic, artistic, special interest, professional, and community service-based organizations.

Among the most popular student organizations are Student Government Association (SGA), Interior Design Society (IDS), Black Student Achievement Coalition (BSAC), Volunteers in Action (VIA), and Student Association for Latino and Spanish Americans (SALSA).

Over 900 students live on campus in one of the six residence halls, where the residence life office provides a comfortable educational environment for Mount Ida students to call home. The residence halls allow students to live with other students and form bonds, enjoying the rich diversity of the Mount Ida community. This helps make the college experience a time of personal growth and development for students, in addition to providing an academically enriching environment.
