Neumann University Is A Private, Roman Catholic Co-educational Institute of Higher Learning

Neumann University in Aston, Pennsylvania, is a private, Roman Catholic co-educational institute of higher learning founded in the Franciscan tradition. The Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia founded the college, raising enough money to break ground in 1964.

Since then, Neumann University has perpetuated the sisters' tradition of learning by emphasizing respect, environmental responsibility, and social concern. Neumann offers undergraduate and professional degrees in a wide variety of disciplines as well as an accelerated bachelor's degree program for adult students. The student-faculty ratio is 14:1, which means professors are able to give students the individual attention they need to succeed.

A Strong Liberal Arts Education

Neumann University offers Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees as well as a strong liberal arts education in a broad range of undergraduate studies including accounting, arts production and performance, athletic training, biology, business administration, communication and media arts, computer and information management, criminal justice, education, English, environmental studies, international business, marketing, nursing, political science, psychology, sport management, an accelerated evening program, secondary certification, biology/general science, social studies, special education, pre-professional programs, law, and medicine.

Student Life At Neumann University

Neumann University now fields 19 NCAA Division III athletic teams and nine art groups. Intercollegiate men's and women's sports are members of the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) and the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC). Varsity sports include baseball, basketball, field hockey, golf, ice hockey, lacrosse, soccer, softball, tennis, and volleyball. Club teams are also offered.

The Life Center is home to Meagher Theater, Bruder Athletic Center, and Crossroads Cafe, where students convene to socialize. Neumann University also offers a growing number of student organizations and clubs including the Black Student Union, Business Association, Campus Press (student newspaper), Communication Arts, Community Chorus, Dance Club, Delaware County Symphony, Environmental Club, International Student Association, Professional Education Society, Psychology Club, Residence Life Advisory Board, Roller Hockey Club, Student Activities Board, Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, Student Government Association, Student Nurses Association, and Theater Ensemble. Students are encouraged to start their own organization if there is an interest for which an organization has not yet been formed.

Culture and Arts Are Rich At Neumann University

The Arts Guild at Neumann University was established to enhance the college's awareness of cultural enrichment. There are nine organizations that comprise the Arts Guild including Center Stage Productions, the Cultural Arts Forum, the Delaware County Symphony, International Ballet Classique, the Neumann University Art Gallery, the Neumann University Concert Chorale, the Neumann University Jazz Band, the Neumann University Players, and Stages of Imagination. Seminars and performances are offered in the Fred P. Meagher Theatre.

State-of-the Art Living and Learning Centers

Students live in one of three residence halls. Neumann University's state-of-the-art Living and Learning Centers are located in a safe, suburban neighborhood and offer study areas on every floor; two computer labs open 24/7; workout rooms with weights, stairclimbers, and treadmills; private bathrooms; and telephone, Internet, and cable TV service in every room. There is also a foot court and areas for student activities in each residence hall. In addition, the university sponsors off-campus residences.

Career Development At Neumann U

Neumann University assists its students' professional development at its Career Counseling and Placement Office. Ninety-seven percent of Neumann graduates are employed in their field of study or attending graduate school within one year of graduation. Neumann University staff also assists students with placement into internships and cooperative education experiences to enhance classroom learning.

Students Enjoy A Beautiful Campus Near Philadelphia and Wilmington, Delaware

Located in the Delaware Valley, within a half hour of Philadelphia and its endless sports, cultural, and historic activities, Neumann University is 10 miles north of Wilmington, Delaware, which offers cultural advantages and activities year-round. Delaware and New Jersey beaches are also within a two-hour drive from campus.
