Location

Thanks to its location in the heart of the city, The Art Institute of Ohio-Cincinnati makes it easy for students to enjoy all the culture and excitement a large city has to offer. The city is home to major league sporting events, major concerts, symphony, theater, Kings Island amusement park, award-winning restaurants, and downtown entertainment districts with exciting nightspots.

In the early 1800s, Cincinnati went from a river outpost to perhaps the first middle-American boomtown to rival the bigger coastal cities in size and wealth. Today, Cincinnati is known for its great beauty with steep hills, wooded suburbs, a picturesque downtown riverfront, and four definite seasons. It's a very affordable city with friendly neighbors, great job opportunities, excellent schools, diverse religions, shopping, safety, and lots of things to do.

Cincinnati is famous for its historic architecture. The Over-the-Rhine district features one of the world's largest collections of Italianate architecture. There is a river ferry and many bridges from the city to northern Kentucky, on the other side of the Ohio River. The Roebling Suspension Bridge is the work of John Roebling, who later modeled his much more famous Brooklyn Bridge after this one.

Cincinnati holds many annual festivals and events: Oktoberfest, which celebrates the city's German heritage; Taste of Cincinnati; the Ohio Valley Jazz Festival; the Banbury Music Festival; and the Cincinnati Fringe Festival, Ohio's biggest performing arts festival with twelve days of film, visual art, and music.

There's also plenty of big-league sports. The Cincinnati Reds play baseball at Great American Ballpark, while the Bengals play football at Paul Brown Stadium. Other sports include pro hockey and soccer along with a full slate of college sports.
