Location

The village of Tinley Park, just a short drive or train ride south from Chicago, is one of the most rapidly growing communities in this Midwest metropolitan area. Oak Park Avenue, the village's main thoroughfare, offers restaurants, shops, and businesses that make up the renovated historic district. In the summer, there are concerts in the plaza, drive-in-style movie nights, block parties, flea markets, farmers markets, and festivals.

In addition, there is a water park at the Bettenhausen Recreation Center, ball fields, Freedom Park, concerts at the First Midwest Bank Amphitheatre, and events at the Convention Center.

One of the village's most popular events is the Benches on the Avenue public art project, in which handcrafted wooden seating created by local artists is placed along Oak Park Avenue for the summer. Students are able to take the train to downtown Chicago.

Chicago is a world center of business, communications, and art. It is also the home of some of the world's most passionate sports fans. The Cubs play at legendary Wrigley Field on the city's north side, and the White Sox play at U.S. Cellular Field on the south side. The Bulls play basketball at United Center, which is also where the NHL's Blackhawks play hockey. And football's Chicago Bears make their home at Soldier Field.

Chicago is a city of extraordinary architecture, 29 miles of lakefront, parks, neighborhood festivals, museums, and cultural attractions. Magnificent harbors, parks, beaches, and a wide variety of restaurants all contribute to the thriving city life. Visitors enjoy the well-known Midwestern hospitality and flock to such famous attractions as the Magnificent Mile, Navy Pier, and Millennium Park.

Chicago is also well known for its music traditions--from jazz to blues, from soul to gospel, and from house music to hip-hop.
