Overview

Warner Pacific College Gives Students Unique Opportunities in Every Academic Field

Giving students an advantage in their chosen field is a top priority at Warner Pacific College. Ranked by U.S. News & World Report as one of the best values and best baccalaureate colleges in the West, Warner Pacific professors and staff work hard to develop opportunities for students that reflect their interests and career goals. Whether in medical internships at nearby Oregon Health Science University, connection to a network of marketing and business professionals, or opportunities in the local arts and theater community, Warner Pacific's current students and recent graduates are impacting the city of Portland and world.

Getting to the Core of the Human Experience

Warner Pacific College understands that professional preparation means more than amassing job skills. Offering twenty-seven undergraduate majors and twenty-nine minors, Warner Pacific's unique liberal arts core weaves faith, ethics, and civic responsibility into the fabric of their curriculum, equipping students with the critical thinking and logic skills that will help them engage actively in a constantly changing world.

For Warner Pacific Students, Christian Spirit Motivates Community Service in Portland and Abroad

Warner Pacific embraces its role of being a light of Christ in the city of Portland and the world beyond, Their mission of being "in the city, for the city." is a deceptively simple summary of all that Warner Pacific provides--a rigorous liberal arts education in an urban setting, coupled with a service-oriented, faith-based approach to community outreach and personal transformation. Whether engaging in such activities as reading to elementary school children, painting murals at a local high school, or doing landscaping at shelters for women and children, community service is central to a student's experience at Warner Pacific. The college also provides students many different service learning opportunities to encounter, learn and serve beyond the campus with Missions program to countries such as Myanmar, Taiwan, Bangladesh, Honduras, India, Japan, Myanmar, China, South Korea, and Mexico.

Dynamic and Lively Student Life Ranges from Intercollegiate Athletics to Events and Banquets

Beyond academics, students at Warner Pacific have access to a variety of social activities outside of the classroom. Whether competing in intramural basketball or volleyball games, hanging out in one of the many living areas on campus, performing at Open Mic night, attending a chapel service or exploring Portland with a group of friends, there are countless opportunities to experience the vibrant community that Warner Pacific offers. Additionally, athletics are a major part of campus life. The Warner Pacific Knights are members of the Cascade Collegiate Conference, which is part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Division II. Since 2006, Warner Pacific has claimed three regular season and four conference tournament championships in men's and women's basketball and men's soccer. Additional women's sports include cross-country, golf, track and field, and volleyball. Men also compete in cross-country, golf, as well as track and field.

The men's basketball team has gone to the national tournament seven consecutive years and hope to make it eight in 2013.

Recreation in Portland and the Surrounding Region Completes the Warner Pacific Experience

Whether exploring one of Portland's many hiking trails, dining at one of the many tantalizing bistros or restaurants, shopping for vintage clothes or attending a play or sporting event, the city of Portland also has much to offer. Named one of the best places to live in the United States by "Money" and "Outside" magazines, Portland is also considered one of the greenest cities in the U.S. according to SustainLane.com. Warner Pacific students also have access to a reliable bus and light-rail system to take them to the many diverse cultural and recreational activities the city has to offer.
