An Impressive Selection of Courses Are Available in Environmental Law, Comparative Law, and Real Estate Law
Pace Law School offers a variety of programs leading to J.D., LL.M., and S.J.D. degrees. Several joint-degree programs are also offered, as well as certificate programs in environmental law or international law that can be pursued independently or in conjunction with the J.D. or the LL.M.
The Juris Doctor program builds a solid foundation in American common law practice. In addition to the core courses, more than seventy elective courses are available in concentrations ranging from taxation to international and comparative law.
Students who have previously earned a law degree can enroll in one of four advanced degree programs. Students whose first law degree was earned outside the United States may pursue a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in comparative law that can be completed in one year by a full-time student. Students gain expertise in the U.S. common law system while enhancing their credentials for law practice in the U.S., or possibly in a transnational setting.
The Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Environmental Law provides attorneys with special expertise in environmental law through two tracks: one for graduates of U.S. law schools and another for lawyers educated outside the U.S. Graduates of the L.L.M. in Real Estate Law program are ready to assist the private sector and governments with issues dealing with real estate development, land use, conservation, and other demands. The highly competitive S.J.D. in Environmental Law program prepares legal scholars for the teaching of environmental law in the United States and abroad.
Joint-degrees are also available and are offered in the areas of real estate, business administration, public administration, environmental management, environmental policy, and women's history.
