Many still in school can participate in the work-study program, which enables students to earn money for their graduate school tuition, which ranges from nearly $5,000 for local residents to $12,000 for those from other areas. There are also several scholarship and grant opportunities available.

York University is a coeducational, secular, public institution of higher learning based in the heart of Canada's largest urban center, Toronto, in the province of Ontario. York University was founded over fifty years ago in early 1959, having later officially offered formal courses in 1960. Every year, the Theatre at York puts on several interesting plays that range from newly developed short student pieces to time-honored classical works of Shakespeare. The Art Gallery of York is a setting for current student and professional contemporary art exhibitions.
Of course, there are many student clubs and organizations to participate in also. With nearly 300 such groups, ranging from the Chinese Debating Society to the Free the Children group (and even an Ultimate Frisbee club), there is clearly something for everyone. And if there isn't, then students have the opportunity and freedom to create their own unique organizations.
While York is non-denominational, there are over 20 distinct religious groups, ranging from the Apostolic Pentecostals to the Muslim Association. There are more than a dozen sporting and recreational clubs to join at York, for those who need to blow off some steam or maintain a fitness program. These include the Table Tennis Club, Legion Fencing, Ballroom Dancing Club, the Archery Club, and the Women's Fastball Club.
Of course, for students who want to make a structural and operational difference, they can become active members of over 40 related clubs for like-minded thinkers, like the Calumet College Council or the Graduate Business Council.
