From the College

The Art Institute of Tampa provides education programs created to help students pursue entry-level employment in the creative arts. Students are encouraged to gain an understanding of theoretical and practical knowledge appropriate to their degree objectives, demonstrated through measurable student-learning outcomes specified for each degree program. The Art Institute of Tampa offers twelve bachelor’s degree programs and four associate degree programs.

The student population includes recent high school graduates, transfer students, and those who have left a previous employment situation to study and train for a new career. Students are creative, competitive, and open to new ideas. They place great value on an education that prepares them for an exciting entry-level position in the arts.

Classes are sized to allow for individual attention, and course work is developed by industry leaders who are familiar with the professional workplace. Many faculty members work outside of the classroom and bring back practical knowledge that provides students with a relevant, hands-on education. In addition, assistance is available to help students with resume writing, networking, and keeping abreast of what employers are looking for in job candidates.

The active contribution of students to college life supports the creative and intellectual evolution of everyone at The Art Institute of Tampa. Although some students arrive with previous experience in their program fields, others arrive with only their desire to learn. Students come to The Art Institute of Tampa from private schools, public schools, and homeschool environments.

Housing placement assistance is available through referrals and other local resources.
