The Art Institute of California–Inland Empire helps students to cultivate and refine the talents and skills that are needed for entry-level positions in the creative arts. Classes are taught in an environment that encourages learning, leadership, and creativity. The school offers eight bachelor’s degree programs and two associate degree programs.

Faculty and staff members strive to foster development and cultivate artistic growth. Students are given opportunities to develop leadership skills and build relationships. In addition, assistance is available to help students with resume writing, networking, and keeping abreast of what employers are looking for in job candidates.

The Art Institute of California–Inland Empire places a high value on the quality of student life both in and out of the classroom. Students can participate in a wide variety of activities, including clubs and organizations, community service opportunities, and various committees designed to enhance the quality of student life.

The Residential Life and Housing Department provides information on independent housing options to all enrolled students requesting such assistance. The Residential Life and Housing staff members coordinate a variety of activities and are available to assist students in arranging suitable living accommodations.

Students come to The Art Institute of California–Inland Empire from throughout the United States. The student population includes recent high school graduates, transfer students, and those who have left a previous employment situation to study and train for a new career. Students are creative, competitive, and open to new ideas.

The Art Institute of California–Inland Empire is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology (ACCSCT).

The Art Institute of California–Inland Empire is located in San Bernardino. Within a short drive from the school, students can enjoy mountains, deserts, Los Angeles, or Mexico. Programs of Study and Degrees

The Art Institute of California–Inland Empire offers bachelor’s degrees in culinary management, fashion & retail management, fashion design, game art & design, graphic design, interior design, media arts & animation, and Web design & interactive media. Students may also pursue associate degrees in culinary arts and graphic design.

The culinary arts, graphic design, and interior design programs are available in an evening and weekend option format.

Academic Programs

The academic year is divided into four quarters, beginning in January, April, July, and October. Each program is offered on a year-round basis, allowing students to continue to work uninterrupted toward their degrees.

Academic Facilities

The Art Institute of California–Inland Empire occupies approximately 25,000 square feet. In addition to classrooms, studios, laboratories, offices, a student lounge, a library, and an exhibition gallery, The Art Institute of California–Inland Empire maintains an art supply store for the convenience of students. Equipment provided at The Art Institute of California–Inland Empire is specific to the program of study. This includes, but is not limited to, projectors, editing decks, PC and Macintosh computers, and printers.

The Student Federation is responsible for student government and acts as a liaison between the student body and faculty and staff members.

Admission Requirements

Applicants must provide proof of high school graduation or achievement of a General Educational Development (GED) certificate as a prerequisite for admission. In lieu of documenting high school graduation or a GED certificate, applicants may provide proof of attaining an associate degree or higher from an accredited institution. An official transcript indicating date of high school graduation, GED certificate (including test scores), or date of college graduation (including degree granted), is required as proof.

All individuals seeking admission to The Art Institute of California–Inland Empire are interviewed in person or by phone by an assistant director of admissions, and each applicant must create an original essay of at least 150 words stating how an education at the school would help the student to achieve career goals. There is a $50 application fee.
