The Art Institute of Tennessee–Nashville helps students to cultivate and refine the talents and skills that are needed to pursue entry-level positions in the creative arts. Classes are taught in an environment that encourages learning, leadership, and creativity.
Faculty and staff members strive to foster development and cultivate artistic growth. Students are given opportunities to develop leadership skills and build relationships. In addition, assistance is available to help students with resume writing, networking, and keeping abreast of what employers are looking for in job candidates.
The Art Institute of Tennessee–Nashville places a high value on the quality of student life both in and out of the classroom. Students participate in a wide variety of activities, including clubs and organizations, community service opportunities, and various committees designed to enhance the quality of student life.
The school provides information on independent housing options to all enrolled students requesting such assistance.
Students come to The Art Institute of Tennessee–Nashville from throughout the United States. The student population includes recent high school graduates, transfer students, and those who have left a previous employment situation to study and train for a new career. Students are creative, competitive, and open to new ideas.
The Art Institute of Tennessee–Nashville is a branch campus of The Art Institute of Atlanta. The Art Institute of Atlanta is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award associate and baccalaureate degrees. Location
The Art Institute of Tennessee–Nashville is located close to downtown, providing students with ease of access, opportunities to volunteer for civic organizations, and the ability to enjoy all the culture and excitement that the city of Nashville has to offer.
Programs of Study and Degrees
The Art Institute of Tennessee–Nashville offers bachelor’s and associate degrees. Bachelor’s degrees are offered in audio production, culinary arts management, digital filmmaking & video production, fashion & retail management, graphic design, interior design, media arts & animation, photographic imaging, and Web design & interactive media.
Students may also pursue associate degrees in culinary arts, graphic design, video production, and Web design & interactive media.
Diploma programs are offered in culinary arts–baking & pastry and culinary arts–culinary skills.
Academic Programs
The academic year is divided into four quarters, beginning in January, April, July, and October. Each program is offered on a year-round basis, allowing students to continue to work uninterrupted toward their degrees.

The Art Institute of Tennessee–Nashville has a bookstore, Mac and PC computer labs, and classrooms.

Costs
Tuition cost varies by program. Prospective students should contact the school for current tuition costs. Other charges include a starting kit for all first-quarter students. Kits vary in price, depending on the program of study.
Financial Aid
Financial aid is available for those who qualify. Students who require financial assistance should first complete and submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and meet with a financial aid officer.
Student Government
The Student Federation is responsible for student government and acts as a liaison between the student body and faculty and staff members.
Admission Requirements
Applicants must provide proof of high school graduation or achievement of a General Educational Development (GED) certificate as a prerequisite for admission. In lieu of documenting high school graduation or a GED certificate, applicants may provide proof of receiving an associate degree or higher from an accredited institution. An official transcript indicating date of high school graduation, receipt of a GED certificate (including test scores), or date of college graduation (including degree granted) is required as proof.
All individuals seeking admission to The Art Institute of Tennessee–Nashville are interviewed in person or by phone by an assistant director of admissions, and each applicant must write an original essay of at least 150 words stating how an education at the school would help the student achieve career goals. There is a $50 application fee.
