The Art Institutes International–Kansas City provides students with an educational environment and dedicated faculty members committed to preparing students to pursue entry-level positions in the creative arts. The school offers seven bachelor’s degree programs and two associate degree programs.

Under the guidance of industry professionals, students learn by doing the types of tasks they are likely to encounter in the workplace. In addition, assistance is available to help students with resume writing, networking, and keeping aware of what employers are looking for in job candidates.

The Student Affairs Office helps students who need assistance in locating housing.

The student population includes recent high school graduates, transfer students, and those who have left a previous employment situation to study and train for a new career. Students are creative, competitive, and open to new ideas. They place great value on an education that prepares them to pursue an exciting entry-level position in the arts.

The Art Institutes International–Kansas City places a high value on the quality of student life inside and outside the classroom. Students can take part in a wide variety of activities, clubs and organizations, community service opportunities, and various student life enhancing committees.

Instructors are encouraged to look for upcoming books and to advise the administration of any books that may prove useful to their students. Students also have access to the public libraries.

The Art Institutes International–Kansas City is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools to award bachelor’s degrees and associate degrees. The Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools is listed as a nationally recognized accrediting agency by the United States Department of Education and is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.

The Kansas Board of Regents has approved The Art Institutes International–Kansas City to operate in the State of Kansas. Lenexa is part of the Kansas City metropolitan area of nearly two million people. Kansas City’s contributions to jazz and the blues are well known. The city is also home to over 200 fountains and more boulevards than any city besides Paris.

Bachelor’s degree programs are offered in advertising, culinary arts, digital filmmaking & video production, fashion marketing, graphic design, interior design, and Web design & interactive media.

Associate degree programs are offered in culinary arts and graphic design.

The Art Institutes International–Kansas City operates on a year-round, four-quarter system.

The Art Institutes International–Kansas City is home to classrooms, studios, offices, a student lounge, a supply store, and a learning resource center. Equipment provided at The Art Institutes International–Kansas City is specific to the program of study and may include projectors, editing decks, camcorders, PC and Macintosh computers, printers, drafting tables, and kitchen appliances.

Tuition cost varies by program. Prospective students should contact the school for current tuition costs. Other charges include a starting kit for all first quarter students. Kits vary in price depending on the program of study.

Financial aid is available for those who qualify. Students who require financial assistance should first complete and submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and meet with a financial aid officer.

Faculty members at The Art Institutes International–Kansas City are hired on both a part-time and full-time basis. Faculty members have professional knowledge that they bring into the classroom. The school’s faculty members provide their students with a unique, relevant educational experience.

Applicants must provide proof of high school graduation or achievement of a General Educational Development (GED) certificate as a prerequisite for admission. In lieu of documenting high school graduation or a GED certificate, applicants may provide proof of attaining an associate degree or higher from an accredited institution. An official transcript indicating date of high school graduation, GED certificate (including test scores), or date of college graduation (including degree granted) is required as proof.

All individuals seeking admission to The Art Institutes International–Kansas City are interviewed in person or by phone by an assistant director of admissions, and each applicant must create an original essay of at least 150 words stating how an education at The Art Institutes International–Kansas City would help the student to achieve career goals. There is a $50 application fee.
