Since the 1990s, the university has undergone a major revitalization and expansion program that continues to make headlines in the academic world.
Adelphi University has invested over $200 million in capital improvements including dormitories; new centers for performing arts, fine arts, recreation, and sports; network, telecommunications and wireless access across campus; science lab renovations and enhancements; and equipment for research and special projects.
The Beauty of Long Island, 20 Miles from New York City
Adelphi University's main campus is situated in Garden City, Long Island, New York, on one of America's most stunning campuses. Beautifully landscaped with lavish rose gardens and 60 species of trees and shrubs, the 75-acre campus was officially designated as an arboretum in 2002. The campus gives students a safe and comfortable place for learning, studying, and enjoying the university's many extracurricular activities and sports events.
Convenient to Long Island's famous beaches and parks, the campus is just a 40-minute train ride from the world-class attractions of the most exciting international city in the world. Students can drive into Manhattan on the Long Island Expressway or ride the Long Island Railroad, a clean and efficient commuter service with a convenient station near campus.
In addition to the Garden City campus, Adelphi has three other campuses in the New York metropolitan area: the Hauppauge Center Campus, also on Long Island; the Adelphi Manhattan Center Campus in the historic SoHo neighborhood; and the Hudson Valley Center Campus north of NYC in Poughkeepsie, New York.
New and Remodeled Dormitories
One after another, undergraduate dormitories on the main Garden City, Long Island, campus have been extensively renovated with new amenities. A sixth dormitory was built in 2003; every room has a private bathroom and individual climate controls for heating and air conditioning, and every floor has a separate lounge.

Since 2001, while universities around the country have been reducing faculty and staff, Adelphi University has attracted and hired hundreds of nationally recognized professors and additional staff for the school's new and expanded undergraduate programs, which include 40 completely new academic programs, some of which are the first online program and interdisciplinary, hybrid programs. In recent years, Adelphi faculty members have been recognized as Fulbright and Hartford Scholars.

Adelphi's Office of Student Financial Services is committed to helping undergraduate students find the resources to fund their education. The staff guides each student through the application process; assists in identifying scholarships, grants, and loans; and provides ongoing advice to students and their parents.
