Combining a Close-Knit Community and a Small, Personal College Experience with City Living and Amenities

Many students desire a small and personal college experience with a close-knit community and attractive campus. Others crave the multitude of amenities and events associated with city living. At Albertus Magnus College, both of these environments are combined, creating a unique and individualized experience.

The 50-acre campus is located in a residential neighborhood of New Haven's historic north end. Three restored turn-of-the-century mansions are used to house students in addition to a traditional dormitory, all located within walking distance from the academic buildings, library, and athletic facilities. In addition, all students at Albertus are guaranteed housing for all four years of their college careers. All of the buildings are scattered over rolling green lawns, offering a pastoral scene that is a true delight for those who enjoy being outdoors.

New Haven, Connecticut, is a historical port city filled with social, recreational, and cultural activities in which Albertus students may participate. Students are able to travel to and from the city at their convenience and also have access to the numerous beaches and hiking trails in the immediate vicinity. Small Class Sizes and Dedicated Faculty Create an Atmosphere of Scholarly Excellence at Albertus Magnus College

Due to Albertus' small size, students are able to interact and form personal relationships with their professors. With a low student-to-faculty ratio, each student's experience is tailored on an individual basis, beginning with a personal faculty adviser and a commitment by professors to provide individual attention to students. Small class sizes, caring and accessible professors, and a spirit of scholarly excellence create a truly exceptional academic experience that is also highly personalized.

Various academic resources await students, who can take advantage of tutoring opportunities, the academic development center, and the college's writing center to assist them in their studies outside of the classroom.

Albertus offers pre-professional tracks of study, including pre-law and pre-med, as well as a vast number of undergraduate majors, among which are biology, chemistry, business administration and business management, communications, education, English, Spanish, history, political science, psychology, criminal justice, art therapy, graphic design, and many others. For those students who are so inclined, Albertus also features an honors program and classes that present an even more rigorous course of study that is truly rewarding.

Students Experience Fun with a Top-Notch Athletic Facility, Intramural Sports, and Nearly Limitless Activities

Albertus Magnus College also offers a thriving array of organized activities, intramural sports, and NCAA Division III athletics. Among the most popular sports are men's and women's soccer, basketball, and volleyball, as well as baseball and softball. The athletic facilities at Albertus are first-rate, and a multi-million dollar athletic center is at the heart of the various facilities available to all students. The athletic center features a pool; tennis, basketball, and racquetball courts; a dance and yoga room; and a fitness room -- all these amenities offer a perfect diversion when a break from studies is in order.

Campus activities are by no means limited to athletics, however. Albertus also offers a thriving SGA; a multicultural student union; campus ministry; various volunteer organizations; and a host of other clubs, groups, and student organizations.
