Asbury College is a private, coeducational liberal arts school in Wilmore, Kentucky. The 65-acre main campus contains more than thirty buildings in architectural styles ranging from historic Greek revival to contemporary, athletic fields, and a cross-country course. When also considering the equestrian center and a challenge course, the college property totals 739 acres.
Although it is nondenominational, Asbury is a Christian institution originally founded in the Wesleyan-Holiness tradition. Asbury offers fifty majors, primarily four-year programs, in its seventeen departments and has been highly rated by various reporting groups. Asbury College retains 80 percent of entering freshmen, and over 33 percent of them being in the top tenth of their high school class.

Asbury College operates with a full-time faculty of some 80 members, and the part-time faculty typically numbers around 70. Asbury students have involved, accessible, and engaged faculty advisers with them all the way, assisting them with every sort of scholastic and administrative matter¿and ready to help personally, as well, in any way possible. These dedicated, passionate educators work to remain "approachable" and many open their homes to students, whether to host Bible studies, provide counseling or mentoring services, lead discussion groups, or oversee homework sessions. With a student-faculty ratio of 15:1 and small classes, teachers can take time to know all of her students and develop personalized approaches to the course work for them. Approximately 75 percent of full-time faculty members have earned the most advanced possible (terminal) degrees in their respective fields.

After coming to Asbury from almost every state in the U.S. and ten countries, over 90 percent of the college's students live on campus. They come to live and study in a positive, peaceful environment, and they leave with various types of expertise in their minds and a singular devotion to service in their hearts. The college offers alternative certification programs and two graduate degrees, an M.A. in education and Master of Social Work (M.S.W.).
Community service opportunities, missions, internships, exchange opportunities, and work-study programs of various kinds, durations, and remuneration levels are available. Professional Guilds, Fellowships, Music Ensembles, and Ministries Balance the Academic with Extracurricular Alternatives
Student special-interest clubs, professional organizations, and national honor societies are an important aspect of student life at Asbury College. Positions on the "Collegian" (student newspaper) and the "Asburian" (yearbook) are open to all students. Students can become involved with other like-minded peers in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Community Involvement, Men's Glee Club, Jazz Ensemble, Art, Speech, English, Foreign Student, Ministerial Association, Christian Service Association, French, and Spanish Clubs. Students may also participate in the Women's Vocal Ensemble, Chorale, and Concert Band, while student honor societies include Alpha Psi Omega (drama), Sigma Tau Delta (English), Phi Sigma Tau (philosophy), Phi Alpha Theta (history), Sigma Zeta (science and mathematics), and Sigma Delta Pi (Spanish). Among the professional organizations that students may join are the American Guild of Organists, the Student National Education Association, the Kentucky Intercollegiate Press Association, the Music Educators National Conference, and the Student Association for Health, Physical Education, and Recreation.
There's Plenty to Do in the Bluegrass Region of Kentucky, from Recreation to Entertainment, Symphonies to Hoedowns
Wilmore is a safe community of approximately 6,000 people, located in the heart of the famous Bluegrass region of Kentucky some 15 miles southwest of Lexington, the second-largest city in the commonwealth. Surrounding Wilmore are various reminders of the region's pioneer history, including Boonesborough, Fort Harrod, and Shakertown, a restored religious community dating to the 1800s. Lexington makes theaters, an opera house, a symphony orchestra, concerts, and many other events available. The city's Rupp Arena also offers a varied calendar, with programs ranging from top country bands and basketball games to high-tech exhibits and "Sesame Street" musicals. The Kentucky Horse Park is near Lexington, and camping, rock-climbing, boating, and fishing are available at nearby Red River Gorge and Natural Bridge. The magnificent Mammoth Cave National Park is within a three-hour drive.
