Morris County, a rapidly growing area, is the setting for the town of Morristown and the College of Saint Elizabeth. The county boasts rolling hills, valleys, and lakes, as well as a location in northern New Jersey that is about 30 miles west of New York City. Full of history, New Jersey's Morris County dates back to the 1700s, and provides a suburban environment the students of the college feel comfortable exploring and enjoying.
Morris County has dedicated almost 11,000 acres to a park system that is considered one of New Jersey's best. This system shares outdoor education centers, a marina, golf courses, a riding stable, and indoor ice skating arena with the area's residents and students. The College of Saint Elizabeth is a women's college that provides undergraduates with a wide range of educational and leadership programs. Students studying on the 200-acre wooded campus can earn Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degrees through twenty-two departments. As a liberal arts institution, the college offers the Bachelor of Arts degree in American studies, applied science, art, biology, computer information systems, economics, chemistry, communication, education, English, Spanish, history, international studies, justice studies, mathematics, music, philosophy, theology, psychology, and sociology. Bachelor of Science majors are offered in biochemistry, biology, business administration, chemistry, clinical laboratory science, computer science, foods and nutrition, and nursing.
Thirty minors are offered, and professional certificates and certifications are available in such areas as business, education, gerontology, justice studies, ministry, and writing. Dual-degree and combined B.S./M.S. programs are offered, as are master's programs and an Ed.D. in educational leadership.
In addition, this women's college offers a unique leadership program through its Center of Leadership Development. Since 1990, the center gives students in-depth training in leadership skills both on campus and in the community. Over the four-years of the developmental course, the women learn to understand and appreciate servant leadership as they develop greater self-confidence and self-awareness. They explore, expand, and experience leadership through a combination of college courses and their active participation in student governance, sports, community service, clubs and organizations, and workshops and conferences.

Undergraduate students receive the college's support in their student life through career, counseling, and health services programs, and they also have the opportunity to take part in student organizations that match their interests. The student life aspect of the College of Saint Elizabeth includes service as a key component. Social responsibility is an ongoing tradition at the college. The institution offers a Center for Volunteerism and Service-Learning that assists members of the college community with service projects.
The center helps student organizations organize their projects into group activities for more effective service. An Office of Campus Ministry invites students to take part in its faith-based activities. The ministry and the college welcome students of all faiths, and individual spirituality is honored throughout the campus community. An Office of Multicultural Affairs plans student life activities that encourages interaction among cultures.
Many student life activities originate in the residence halls. Residence hall programs foster new friendships and provide a variety of extracurricular experiences. Dedicated athletes will want to consider the college's teams which include basketball, cross-country, lacrosse, soccer, softball, tennis, swimming, and volleyball.
