Hudson Valley, New York is just less than 20 miles from nearby New York City. It lies along the namesake Hudson River and runs from the Tapanzee Bridge all the way up to northern Albany. The region comprises many suburban areas and communities, as well as an incredible array of natural landscapes and mountains, such as the famous Catskill Mountains range. It is home to the minor league Hudson Valley Renegades baseball team as well as the professional Hudson Valley Hawks basketball team. The Lower Hudson Valley is made of some of the state's wealthiest counties, including Westchester and Rockland counties. Historic Hudson Valley is a community of several historic locations that feature educational tours of the history of European settlements along the river, as well as the culture that has emerged since the late 1600's.

The Dominican College Division of Arts and Sciences is the most substantial educational department on campus. There is an incredibly vast array of course work, disciplines, and degree programs to attain within the division, such as those for mathematics, philosophy, applied sciences, fine arts, international languages, religion, and many more.
Led by a knowledgeable faculty of professionals, Dominican College's Business Administration Division not only prepares its students with the foundation of formal business policy and operation, but also an important liberal arts background to provide overall greater awareness and highly evolved intellectual thinking in the eventual workplace. Students are educated on theories, as well as the practical efforts of modern business. In addition to coursework, great experience in business is gained through internships with established companies.
Dominican College's well-regarded Nursing Division recognizes the greatly increased need for experienced and qualified registered nurses in today's ever-expanding medical field and industry. The outstanding clinical faculty, which leads the division, trains every nursing student to fulfill the modern medical needs of today.
The Division of Social Sciences offers a great number of varied degree programs for students, such as psychology, social sciences, criminal justice, history, and social work, amongst others. The division is lead by a group of award-winning and published Ph.D. faculty of professors.

Student life at Dominican College is something that encompasses much more than daily classes and late study nights in a dormitory. The faculty and the programs available at Dominican want to take every step possible to ensure that students not only understand their fields of expertise, but also develop as people to support later professional efforts. Regular campus-bound and commuter students can participate in several ongoing student life activities available like the annual talent show, comedy nights, family day, Broadway Show trips to New York City, game night, dinner dances, bowling, karaoke, tree trimming, and even massage day! Of course, Dominican College offers traditional national honor societies too, including Alpha Chi, Sigma Theta Tau, Psi Chi, Pi Gamma Mu, and others.
There are several student organizations that are run by the Student Government Association at Dominican College. All are headed by an adviser, who is there to teach and guide active and future members. The college offers an exciting and diverse number of different activities for all students to participate in during their time on campus, such as the Biology Club, the Criminal Justice Club, the Debating Society, the DC Chorus, the Psychology Club, the Student Athletic Advisory Committee, the Social Work Club, Association of Information Technology Professionals, Campus Ministry and related community service Rotaract Club, the Dominican Unites Latino for Cultural Education group, the Freshman Board of Activities, the Student Nursing Association, the Student Occupational Therapy Association, and many more.
