FIDM/The Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising is a specialized, private, co-educational college that educates students for the fashion, graphics, interior design, digital media, and entertainment industries. A Specialized, Private College with A.A. and B.S. Degree Programs for Students who are Serious about Fashion and Design

FIDM offers Associate of Arts degrees in apparel manufacturing management, beauty industry merchandising and marketing, digital media, fashion design, footwear design, graphic design, interior design, international manufacturing and product development, jewelry design, merchandise marketing (fashion merchandising or product development), textile design, theater costume design, TV and film costume design, visual communication. In addition to its Associate of Arts programs, FIDM now offers a Bachelor of Science degree in business management accredited by WASC-ACSCU.

All of these programs offer the highly specialized curriculum of a specific major combined with a core general education/liberal arts foundation. Department chairs and other trained staff members provide assistance to every student in selecting the correct sequence of courses to allow each student to complete degree requirements.

Individual Development and Educational Assistance (IDEA) centers at each campus provide students with additional educational assistance to supplement classroom instruction. Services are available in the areas of writing, mathematics, computer competency, study skills, research skills, and reading comprehension.

Every student enrolled also is partnered with one of the most important services offered by the institute, which is career planning and job placement. With a database of over 10,000 employer contacts and more than 1000 job postings/internships each month, FIDM connects students and FIDM graduates with both national and international companies.
