Hamline University's Student Affairs Division is Dedicated to Improving Student Life for All Students

It is important for universities to recognize the importance of student life outside of the classroom to the overall educational experience. Although it is often assumed that student organizations and activities exist merely to provide a diversion for students when they are not engaged in coursework, Minnesota's Hamline University understands that student life is an integral part of every student's higher education.

For this reason, Hamline's Division of Student Affairs is committed to making the environment students inhabit as diverse and rewarding as possible. Over 60 student organizations offer events and activities for every type of student. Additionally, Hamline strives to make it easy for students to start new student organizations, thereby enriching student life on campus.

Student representation is often the key to a meaningful campus experience. Hamline University students are directly involved in the decision-making process for the university, with both Residence Hall and Student Congress representatives influencing administrative and budgetary decisions. This stems from an understanding that, while student organizations are important, student life is not solely focused on organizations and activities.
