In Close Concert with the United Methodist Church, High Point Strives to Instill Values and Leadership in its Students
Upon its founding in 1924, High Point College (now High Point University) was originally a venture of the United Methodist Church in North Carolina. Through the years and times both good and bad, that relationship has grown and been strengthened by success and the overcoming of many hardships. Now, as the university and the church are thriving, students are reaping the rewards of decades of effort.
In addition to rigorous academic programs for both undergraduate and graduate students, with majors ranging from business to engineering to international relations, High Point University brings an added layer of care and mentorship that a faith-based educational experience can deliver. High Point's focus on the development of students' characters as well as their minds is an important distinction to consider when weighing college choices.
Faculty and curriculum are dedicated to fostering close and continual communication among students and teachers, both inside and outside the classroom. High Point University seeks a balance in its educational pursuits, with a goal to enhance students' cognitive, social, and physical capacities simultaneously. Students leave the school with a better understanding of their respective roles in society and how their lives impact the lives of those around them. Leadership is often a byproduct of a High Point University education.
