The College's setting is also rich in opportunities for students. Located in Portland, Oregon, Lewis & Clark attracts some of the most unique young individuals in the country. Portland is one of the nation's most progressive and environmentally rich cities, and the large, wooded campus at Lewis & Clark gives students ample opportunity to explore the landscapes that this area has to offer. The city itself is within easy reach, with downtown only six miles away and easily accessible on one of the most convenient public transportation systems in the United States. Student Life at Lewis and Clark Reflects the School's Unique Approach to Living and Learning
Lewis & Clark has worked to design a campus residential life that compliments the education students receive at the school. Students must live on campus for their first two years, but many students choose to continue living in campus housing beyond the first two years. All residents halls are fully furnished. Coed, single sex, and gender-neutral housing options are available to students. There are also a number of theme floors, including a visual and performing arts floor, among others. Residence halls hold weekly events, including yoga, language conversation groups, and live entertainment. Students can engage in community service projects, college radio, and numerous other college- and student-run activities to enrich their lives outside of the classroom.
