Marymount Manhattan College Offers an Education of Depth and Breadth to Diverse, Deserving Students
Initially opened as the New York City campus of Marymount College in Tarrytown, New York, Marymount Manhattan College (MMC) became an independently chartered institution in 1961. The MMC campus comprises two buildings, located between Second and Third Avenues at 221 E. 71st Street in Manhattan. It is a center of learning for more than 2,000 undergraduate students from forty-eight states and thirty-six international countries. Small classes, personalized instruction, and the low 12:1 student-faculty ratio help students complete the core curriculum of liberal arts requirements in one of seventeen major programs. MMC also offers such special programs as Performing Arts in London, an Academic Year Abroad, and cooperative degree programs with St. John's University, Pace University, and Polytechnic University. MMC students also benefit from the rich resources available through faculty affiliations and the school's New York City location.
As an independent, urban liberal arts college, the college educates a socioeconomically and culturally diverse student body. By supporting intellectual achievement and enabling personal growth, MMC provides various paths fulfilling careers and productive lives. A core part of the mission is encouraging social, political, cultural, and ethical awareness to promote collaborative enterprises for the improvement of the global community. Toward this goal, MMC offers strong programs in the arts and sciences for students at all ages and levels, in addition to powerful pre-professional preparation. The small classes and personalized attention that students receive from the dedicated faculty make Marymount Manhattan College a true, world-class educational resource center for the entire community.
