Experience Milwaukee's Festivals and Downtown Revival

Situated on the shore of Lake Michigan and with a population of close to 2 million, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, is the state's largest city and the economic and cultural hub of the region. This vibrant city has recently undergone a facelift and has reformed its image with a downtown revival.

The campus of the Milwaukee School of Engineering is just a short distance from Milwaukee's energetic downtown and several first-class entertainment venues, including the Bradley Center sports arena, Marcus Center for the Performing Arts, Theater District, Midwest Airlines Center, Milwaukee Art Museum, Riverwalk, U.S. Cellular Arena, Humphrey I-Max Theater, Miller Park baseball stadium, and Grohmann Museum.

Milwaukee's well-preserved architecture, more than 15,000 acres of parks, numerous river parkways, and miles of bike trails make it perfect for the assortment of fairs and festivals that take place there annually, some of which are the largest of their kind and many of which are held at the Milwaukee Maier Festival Grounds. Some of the city's larger festivals include the Lakefront Festival of Arts, Milwaukee International Film Festival, RiverSplash, and Summerfest.

Students of MSOE find navigating Milwaukee simple, as Milwaukee County Transit includes a well-developed system of buses, VanPools, festival routes, and spots where you can park-and-ride. Due to the influence of Lake Michigan, the city's weather is fairly mild with summers rarely reaching over 70 degrees and winters seldom going below 30 degrees.
