MSMC Offers an Incredible Array of Undergraduate Academic Programs, Dual-Degree Programs, and Internships and Co-ops
Mount Saint Mary College (MSMC) offers unique dual-degree programs, or "degree collaborations," for many of its students, through partnerships with such neighboring campuses as The New York College of Medicine, Fordham University, and Pace University. The program allows students to merge their bachelor's degree with a master's degree or doctoral certificate from the other schools. In many cases, a student can take up to three years of study at Mount Saint Mary College and an additional two or three years of study at the "partner" institution.
Mount Saint Mary College offers more than fifty undergraduate academic programs to full- and part-time students. Students can obtain their bachelor's degree or a special dual-degree in programs ranging from accounting and business administration to psychology, mathematics, and political science. MSMC offers some of the most diverse concentrations of study anywhere among its more than twenty majors and over half-dozen dual-degree programs.
In addition to formal study and traditional curricula on campus, Mount Saint Mary College offers cooperative education and real-world internships and co-ops in order to encourage students to participate in career- and community-oriented work. From local corporations and public facilities to social service agencies and high-tech firms, internships and co-ops engage students with the public and private sectors while bolstering life skills and providing career opportunities. Within their internship programs, Mount Saint Mary College students can earn academic credits to help fulfill their degree programs, while several cooperative educational opportunities permit students to receive credit as well as earn money at the same time. For many students, these cooperative education and internship opportunities are an excellent complement to their on-campus undergraduate academic programs.
Scores of Student Organizations and Fun Activities Make for a Diverse, Well-Balanced Student Life At MSMC
Student life at Mount Saint Mary College is as diverse as the people who attend classes every day. But the time spent in higher education isn't all lengthy lectures and tireless study sessions, not at all. In fact, there is a lot students can and will do in and around the MSMC campus to broaden their horizons and get a little bit more out of student life. The gorgeous grounds of MSMC are the perfect place for a rigorous tag football game in the middle of a long Saturday or a place to philosophize with friends over a picnic lunch. But that's not all. Collaborating students may easily start new student organizations that spark their personal interest, take up a sport, join in one of many various clubs, hear a live music show at local venues, be a part of the Mount Olympics annual competitive events, or even join the student government and make an immediate change in the world.
There are several student organizations for every Mount Saint Mary College student to enjoy and learn from. New organizational membership is regularly encouraged. Just last year, MSMC had such student organizations as the Academic Council, The American Chemical Society, Cheerleading, Dance Team, Habitat For Humanity, Knight Radio, The Literary Society, the Math Club, Black Student Union, the Lacrosse Club, The Fashionistas, Commuter Council, The Latino Student Union, and the yearbook. Anyone can participate in one of these student organizations or make up their own.
