Students Can Explore the Natural Beauty of Ontario's Parklands and Islands
The University of Windsor is situated in Canada's southernmost destination. This locale is surrounded by gardens, riverfront parks, international dining, and much more. The cultural community within the Windsor area is active, from the visual to the performing arts. Students can attend performances by theatre companies or the Windsor Symphony, a standout among Canada's regional orchestras, or visit the Art Gallery of Windsor, which collects and exhibits Canadian art.
Festivals of all types feature everything from jazz to films and fit the interests of students in this Canadian region. The Windsor area also has indoor and outdoor malls, as well as popular shopping districts for student use. In addition, students will be just across the river from the arts and entertainment scene of Detroit.
Ontario is a province of waterfalls, sandy beaches, snowmobile trails, fishing excursions, and professional sports, which provide plenty of recreational opportunities for Windsor students. First-Year Undergraduates Learn About Student Life Activities with the Help of Volunteers
Student organizations plan activities on campus and keep student life fun and fulfilling. The University of Windsor Students' Alliance is the government that represents undergraduate students, and all student organizations, clubs, and societies operate under the alliance.
Freshmen students learn about one particular student organization soon after they arrive on campus. The Students Orienting Students group is made up of members who help new students adjust to university life. Volunteers are matched with incoming undergraduate students so they can answer questions, help them locate classes, or invite them to attend activities. The volunteers maintain contact with the first-year students throughout the year. Another volunteer program is geared to assist international students with their acclimation into the university.
Cultural contributions to a richer student life come from students who perform on campus in theatre productions, musical performances, and other artistic endeavors. A healthier student life also is supported by a centre for campus fitness and recreation activities. This facility offers dance classes, sports, and fitness equipment. Athletics is a source of pride at the university. The Windsor Lancers compete in basketball, volleyball, hockey, soccer, football, cross country, and track and field.
