The Pennsylvania College of Technology, affectionately known as Penn College or Penn Tech, is located on a modern, attractive campus that is distinguished by its excellent level of security. College police officers are on hand to make the campus safe twenty-four hours per day. Additionally, the campus is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities; hands-on, applied technology education includes student access to the latest technology in classrooms, labs, library, and study areas.
Four-year and Two-year Degree Programs are Available in All Areas of Applied Technologies
Penn College offers bachelor's degrees and associate's degrees in more than 100 career areas. The school's programs of study are focused on applied technologies ranging from manufacturing, design, transportation, construction, and natural resources to hospitality, health, business, and communications.
The school's most popular majors include nursing, building construction, information technology: network specialist, residential construction management, and automotive technology management.
Online Degrees and Flexible Study Options Allow Students to Obtain an Education Easily and Conveniently
Several flexible study options are available to Penn College students, including online study. Six online bachelor's degrees, in technology management, automotive technology management, applied health studies, RN to BSN completion, health information management, and dental hygiene, offer students with an associate's degree the convenience to continue their education from home or work.
New Academic Programs Expand the Opportunities Available to Penn College Students
In addition to the already wide range of academic programs available at Penn Tech, the school is introducing new Bachelor of Science completion degrees. These degrees will allow students to study building science and sustainable design, which gives students access to new "green-collar" career options, and health information management, which is an online degree for one of the nation's fastest-growing health careers.
Small Classes, Support Services, and Study Abroad Options Let Students Personalize Their Education
All classes at Penn College are taught by faculty, not teaching assistants, with relevant work experience and in small class sizes ensuring personal attention. The low student-to-faculty ratio is 18.5-to-1. The college also provides a variety of free support services to assist students during their college experience. Personal attention and individualized support ensure that students can make the most out of the higher education.
In addition, short-term and semester-long study abroad opportunities are available in Australia, Austria, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, and Nicaragua, allowing students to expand their horizons in ways that correspond to their interests and abilities.
Penn Tech Recently Added Greek Life to the List of Student Life Activities Available on Campus
Students have many opportunities to interact outside of the classroom. There are more than 50 clubs and organizations including those with connections to business and industry professionals. Greek life is a recent addition to Penn College. Nationally affiliated fraternities include Chi Phi, Phi Mu Delta, Sigma Nu, and Sigma Pi, while sororities include Alpha Sigma Alpha and Sigma Sigma Sigma.
Penn College's Wildcat Athletics Have a Good Reputation in the Region and Across the United States
The Penn College Wildcats compete in 15 intercollegiate sports. These sports include coed archery, bowling, dance team, golf, and tennis; men's baseball, basketball, cross country, soccer, and volleyball; and women's basketball, cross country, soccer, softball, and volleyball.
The 2008-09 teams completed the year with a .719 winning percentage, captured three national team championships, won six conference titles, and participated in six USCAA National Championships. Additionally, the Wildcats were honored with the first PSUAC Chancellor's Cup. Other athletic opportunities for Penn College students exist in three club sports and 30 intramural sports.

On-campus housing at Penn Tech consists of apartment-style communities offering a variety of living arrangements for 1,500 students. Each living unit consists of one or two bedrooms, a living room, a bathroom, several closets, and a kitchen. All residence options are fully furnished and include all utilities, basic local phone service, voice-mail, and connection to the college computer network. Mail delivery and coin- or card-operated laundry facilities are conveniently located on site. These amenities ensure that Penn Tech students have access to all the necessities of residence life and can focus on education.
Williamsport, Pennsylvania, Has Much to Offer Students in the Way of Culture and Outdoor Recreation
The location of Penn Tech in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, has many factors that make it a desirable place to study. In downtown Williamsport there is a multi-screen movie theater, Community Theatre League, YWCA/YMCA, shops, cafes, and much more. The area's Lycoming Mall is only 15 minutes away.
Additionally, the Community Arts Center is a subsidiary of Penn College and hosts musical artists, comedians, Broadway musicals, the Williamsport Symphony Orchestra, and other exciting cultural events. Being nestled in the Susquehanna Valley also provides many outdoor recreational activities including hiking, biking, camping, canoeing, hunting, and others.
Getting around is easy in Williamsport and the surrounding region. River Valley Transit of Williamsport provides free access to fixed routes with a valid, current college ID. Routes go beyond the Williamsport area to Muncy (Lycoming Mall), Montoursville, South Williamsport, Montgomery (Penn College's Earth Science Center), and other areas.
