Elizabethtown Is A Private, Residential Co-ed College
Elizabethtown College is a selective private, residential co-ed college of 1,900 students located on 200 acres in south central Pennsylvania. The campus is near cities rich with cultural, athletic, community, and social opportunities. The college was founded in 1899 by members of the Church of the Brethren.
To this day, Elizabethtown College continues to embrace the heritage of the Church of the Brethren: dedication to peace, social justice, and non-violence; commitment to the value of human dignity; and preparing students to lead rich lives of purpose and meaning. Elizabethtown advances independent thought, personal integrity and social responsibility as the foundations for a life of learning.

Elizabethtown Students Can Pursue A Wide Variety of Degrees
Elizabethtown students pursue degrees in liberal arts, fine and performing arts, science and engineering, business, communications, and education. The college offers 53 degrees, all with a solid liberal arts foundation - the true secret of success. The school's most popular academic programs are business, communications, education, occupational therapy, and biology.
Unique programs include music therapy, international business, political philosophy and legal studies, business administration/entrepreneurship, theatre/theatre technology, and forestry and environmental engineering with Duke University. Some students have double majors; some also pursue double majors with an additional minor.
Elizabethtown College Has A High-Level Honors Program
The Honors Program is a high-level academic program for students who are intellectually curious and have high standards of academic excellence. The program provides highly motivated students with special academic opportunities including accelerated courses, one-on-one interaction with faculty, smaller class size, greater research experience, and travel opportunities. The Honors Program offers a distinctive and challenging four-year course of study, encouraging scholarship and sustained academic activity.

Students develop distinct global awareness through campus events and programs, the Center for Global Citizenship, the Ware Lecture Series on Peacemaking and Social Justice, and a popular study abroad program.

Study Abroad Is Also Available
Students anxious to enrich their college studies and who are interested in a world view should take advantage of Elizabethtown's rich and varied study abroad programs. Students can study in another country for a semester, a full academic year, or a summer term. Students have studies in Australia, Belgium, China, Ecuador, England, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, India, Ireland, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, Spain, and Wales.
More than 5,000 students have participated in the BCA program since its inception. Elizabethtown College encourages its students to plan for at least one semester in the study abroad program. Such study is life-changing and personally transformative.
Student Life At Elizabethtown College
Elizabethtown College also encourages students to learn through relationships by immersing themselves in campus life -- there are more than 80 clubs, student organizations, and campus activities. Learning through relationships extends beyond the classroom and students get involved in clubs that match their personal interests. School spirit, involvement, and friendships are critical to life at Elizabethtown.
Beyond clubs, Elizabethtown College is also a member of the NCAA Division III with 20 athletic teams and several conference titles in its history. Its most popular teams are soccer, lacrosse, basketball, and track and field.
