Overview

Master of Science in Engineering Technology

The Austin Peay State University Master of Science in Engineering Technology degree program is designed to provide the advanced knowledge and skills needed by individuals in technological careers. The curriculum is built on a foundation of theoretical and applied concepts related to practical problems in the industry. A unique element of this program is the use of rapid prototyping and additive manufacturing technology. APSU has one of the few undergraduate programs in this field of technology, and the master's degree program will expand the knowledge base in this area.

Engineering Technology Program Delivery

The program will be based at the APSU Center @ Fort Campbell, where the APSU Department of Engineering Technology degree program serves a mix of traditional and nontraditional students. The Master of Science in Engineering Technology degree program has made a significant investment in a laboratory equipped with a range of modern, industry-standard equipment for rapid prototyping and additive manufacturing. The degree program will be delivered in the traditional classroom format at the Fort Campbell campus, with courses offered in the accelerated 8-week course schedule to align with U.S. Army training and unit rotation schedules.

Admission Requirements

Applicants must have completed his/her bachelor's degree in engineering technology, engineering, or a bachelor's degree in a related field from a regionally accredited university with a 2.5 GPA or better. Candidates with degrees in related fields, such as physics, chemistry, computer science, or mathematics may be required to complete additional undergraduate courses in engineering technology after consultation with an academic advisor.

In addition to the APSU graduate application applicant must also complete the Engineering Technology Application form with required attachments. For consideration the candidate must submit a complete application package containing official transcripts of undergraduate courses at all colleges attended and the departmental application form with required attachments to the Graduate Admissions office. The admission decision will be based on the entire academic and professional record.
