MBA degree programs at Case Western Reserve University

The Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University offers professionals and business leaders four Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree programs: the Full-time MBA degree program, the Executive MBA degree program, the Part-time MBA degree program and the Global MBA degree program. These programs are designed to meet the needs of students with diverse backgrounds and a wide range of career interests and goals.

Program curricula are rooted in three important concepts: leadership, business as an agent of world benefit, and manage by designing. They integrate rigorous classroom instruction with hands-on training to provide expertise in business functions and in-depth understanding of management principles.

As a result, students graduate with the business acumen, leadership abilities, and emotional intelligence to develop innovative solutions for real-world problems and create sustainable value for business and society.

Full-time MBA degree program

The two-year, 60-credit full-time MBA degree program consists of core courses in key business areas like accounting, economics, finance, and marketing. It also has nine elective courses that allow students to focus on areas of interest.

In the first year of the program, students develop individual learning plans, complete the core curriculum, and discuss real-world business problems with executives. During the second year, students complete elective courses and a year-long practicum.

The "MBA Institute in Sustainable Value and Social Entrepreneurship" practicum involves developing solutions to provide business, environmental, and social value. The "Design in Management: Concept and Practices" practicum entails analyzing business-related activities, capabilities, materials, relationships and technologies to solve complex problems.

Executive MBA degree program

The Executive (EMBA) degree program is designed for distinguished professionals with at least 10 years of experience. It is delivered in a cohort format and requires only 16 campus visits over five semesters (21 months).

The program's 48-credit curriculum covers critical disciplines like accounting, finance, marketing, and statistics from a leadership perspective. With every course, students strengthen their understanding of business practice and enhance their leadership capacity.

Additional features include personalized executive coaching, an application project and an international study experience.

Part-time MBA degree program

The Part-time MBA degree program helps students gain the skills and tools to immediately impact their workplaces. This three-year cohort program consists of 48 credits of core and elective courses.

Core courses cover fundamental areas like accounting, economics, financial management and operations management. Elective courses allow students to acquire expertise in areas pertaining to their career interests and goals.

Global MBA degree program

The Global MBA degree program, a two-year, cohort program, involves study in the United States, China, and India. The program consists of 60 credits of courses organized in five themes: "Language of Management," "Management Analytics," "Strategic Thinking," "Managing Teams and Leadership," and "Global Environment."

In year one, students from China, India, and the United States begin the program (in the fall semester) at Tongji University in Shanghai, China. They spend the spring semester studying at the Xavier School of Management in Jamshedpur, India.

The second year begins in the summer with study at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. In the fall, students return to their home schools to complete the final semester. However, students from China and India may opt to complete the final semester at Case Western Reserve University.
