Build Knowledge and Skill for Success at Columbia College

Good business is a skill. Master it at Columbia College.

There was a time when all students needed to succeed was a bachelor's degree. But in today's economy, they might need more. A Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree from Columbia College helps students reach their full potential and pushes them to the front of the pack -- leading to a higher salary and career progression across a variety of industries. The Bureau of Labor and Statistics reports that workers with a master's degree, on average, earn $400,000 more in their lifetimes than those with only bachelor's degrees.

But lack of time often deters working adults from pursuing a graduate degree. Unlike others, this M.B.A. program was designed with working adults as the primary intended audience. Columbia College prides itself on offering to students some of the most accommodating, accredited, and affordable programs in the America. As a nonprofit college, Columbia College's primary stakeholders are the students of the college. This is why Columbia College molds its graduate program to fit even the busiest of schedules through the use of convenient eight-week sessions, start-and-stop flexibility, and the option to take classes in the evening (select campuses only) and online. Thanks to these helpful aspects of Columbia College's structure, students will be able to handle their jobs and family obligations -- all while earning their graduate degrees.

Columbia College's M.B.A. curriculum offers a balance of theory and practice. The mission of the M.B.A. program is to prepare working adults in the early stages of their careers in small or middle-sized organizations with the knowledge, skills, and personal characteristics that will enhance performance in their present occupation, and prepare them for advancement to upper-level management. A principal strategy for achievement of this overall goal is to employ a balanced educational approach that includes a rich mixture of business theory and practice. The M.B.A. program complements management development activities which, in combination, prepare working adults for advancement within an organization. To this end, the M.B.A. program enhances career opportunities in the management of business firms or other formally organized enterprises. Therefore, the program centers on a professional approach which balances business theory with practice in the search for knowledge, skills, and methodologies that are useful in formulating strategies for the future in an uncertain and often turbulent business environment.
