Online Food and Agribusiness MBA

Delaware Valley College has always been a pioneer in food and agribusiness. With its founding as the National Farm School in 1896, DelVal has been an innovation leader and transformative influence in both the food and agricultural industries. For more than 10 years, the college has been offering its fully accredited online M.B.A. degree program in food and agribusiness.

In the "Food and Agribusiness" M.B.A. specialization students will learn the principles of economics, marketing, operations, and business management and apply these concepts to food and agricultural businesses. They gain an in-depth understanding of domestic and international food and agribusiness systems processes, products, and services that consumers demand. Within the context of policy development, students will also examine each of the industry's needs to increase volume, yield, and quality while maintaining profitability.

Like DelVal's students, the college's practitioner faculty members hail from varied backgrounds and industries, hold respected job titles and academic degrees, bring a wealth of field-tested skills and knowledge to the classroom, and provide networking opportunities beyond the classroom.

The college's mission is to educate, and what better way to accomplish this goal then to entrust classrooms to accomplished professionals from small business enterprises, pharmaceuticals, food manufacturing, agricultural business distribution, banking, and state and local policy agencies. The college's industry experts come with a passion for teaching.

Student Testimony from Erica Blazer

"I am currently working with the quality and food safety team with Bimbo Bakeries USA. My undergraduate degree is in food science and nutrition, and I am currently working towards my M.B.A. specializing in food and agribusiness. The M.B.A. program at Delaware Valley College is not only very affordable compared to other graduate programs but provides the flexibility I need with my hectic schedule. I have truly enjoyed the classes I have taken so far for many reasons: 1) the professors offer real-life experience in the fields that they are teaching, which is valuable to me personally; 2) the professors understand how hectic life can be and are available to discuss the material -- whether that be after class or on a Saturday night; 3) the atmosphere is excellent, classes are small, and you get the individualized attention you would not normally get in other programs.

"Taking the courses in the DelVal M.B.A. program greatly helped to advance my career. I have an in-depth understanding of all the functional areas within my company. I have leveraged my understanding of finance and marketing to collaborate with various teams within the company to improve product design and delivery. I have been told by many of my managers that they are so happy I am getting an M.B.A. degree because in the end, it all comes down to numbers -- and most individuals with a science background need a well-rounded business background.

"Being able to understand both has really set me apart in my company, and within the next year I expect to be in a position with more responsibility. Working towards my M.B.A. at DelVal has not only improved my career, but also my personal life. I feel more enriched and fulfilled. It is always important to continue growing and learning; and DelVal is the perfect place to do both."
